ALIYA HALLIM-BYNE
Chair, OP.LYNX, the Women’s Network of Out Professionals

Aliya Hallim-Byne is the chair of OP.LYNX, the Women’s Network of Out Professionals, the nation’s largest LGBT business and professional networking organization. Hallim-Byne began her pro- fessional life at age 19 in her family’s insurance business, followed by tenures at HSBC Bank, Mass Mutual Financial Group and the French company Maya Press, where she served as Director of Development. Hallim-Byne became acquainted with what she calls the “power of nonprofits” at the Anti-Violence Project and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. “Both organizations helped tremendously in my healing as a survivor of domestic violence and other issues after leaving my marriage in 1993,” Hallim-Byne says. “ She adds that, “I am deeply committed to bringing the communities within the LGBT community together and to focusing what we share.”
