Captivating Couples 2011

They met online, in grad school and even at an adoption center. Their love stories quell the naysayers and show us all that it can happen. Quit mooning over your exes and be inspired!

(And they’re in no particular order ‘cause we’re captivated by them all!)

Linda & Michelle

Los Angeles, CA

Michelle, 41, personal fitness trainer

Linda, 37, event producer, co-owner of Fuse-Events and Truck Stop

While Linda and Michelle ran in the same circles for years in San Francisco, it wasn’t until moving to Los Angeles that they officially met. Michelle applied to bartend at one of Linda’s events, and fortunately for her, wasn’t hired. “I say that because I’m a pretty tough boss,” explains Linda. “If she worked for me, she probably wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with me.” Instead, the two remained acquaintances and built a friendship over the next seven years before giving in to their mutual attraction in 2007. Two years later, they were married in front of 65 family members and friends. “When we got married, we took an oath to be kind to each other every day and we work to be kind and loving,” they say. The couple enjoys daily hikes with their three dogs and likes to stay active by skiing and travelling. “There are days that we drive each other crazy, but we wouldn’t want that crazy with anyone else.” They add: “It helps when you know you’ve married your best friend.”
