100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Stacy Lentz

A former head of executive recruiting firms, Stacy Lentz transformed her business skills into
philanthropy and activism when she decided to invest in the Stonewall Inn. This iconic establishment has become her vehicle to educate and raise awareness about the LGBT community’s past and the history of the Stonewall riots and gay rights activism. Stacy hosts fundraisers for Human Rights Campaign, The Hetrick-Martin Institute, The Trevor Project and Lambda Legal, among other LGBT organizations. Her “Stonewall Gives Back Tuesdays” benefit parties ensure that, as a bar, Stonewall stays true to its legacy. Further to that end, Stacy is hard at work on this year’s Pride, which officially marks the 40th Anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion. -KD

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
