What happens when you combine a Las Vegas heist, zombie apocalypse, and out comedian Tig Notaro? Twitter gold.

The social media platform is abuzz today following the release of the trailer for Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead.” The trailer features a gun-toting Notaro facing off against an army of the undead while she and a band of merry misfits rob a shuttered Vegas casino to the tune of Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler.”
Not that the plot of the film means all that much. “I don’t know what the movie is about. I don’t care what the movie is about. But what I do know is I will be watching it solely to experience butch daddy Tig Notaro,” wrote journalist Alex Berg on Twitter.

Notaro had been brought in as a replacement for Chris D’Elia, originally cast in the film in 2019. He was replaced by Notaro in August 2020, following allegations of sexual misconduct. Since filming had already begun with D’Elia, Notaro had to be digitally inserted into some of the existing scenes, Decider reports.

If the feedback from Twitter is any indication, the addition of Notaro — a somewhat unlikely pick for a zombie-heist film — is pure magic.
