Scream Club

Scream Club’s Cindy Wonderful and Sarah Adorable have a dynamic edge to their music that they describe as “Queer Electro Sex Hop Hip Pop Punk Rock Glam Rap,” and if you think that’s a mouthful then you should check out some of their lyrics.

The quirky duo from Olympia, Washington has been playing music since the members were both kids.

“I just started playing guitar, bass, anything I could really, kiddy pianos, noise makers,” Wonderful said. “I just loved rock ‘n’ roll for as long as I can remember.”

Adorable, on the other hand, started with a different set of strings. “I grew up playing the violin, and my brother Ben Adorable was always in rock bands and my mother plays every type of stringed instrument there is so I grew up around music. And really, who doesn’t wanna be a rock star. ”

Scream Club has an upcoming album called Life of a Heartbreaker to be released on their own label Crunks Not Dead.

The out rock experience has been good for the group—they relish in it.

“One cool thing about queer events is that we sometimes get to play shows with our friends that make other types of music than us, like our good friend Gina Young,” the group related. “Outside of a queer-specific environment, folk music and rap might not go together so well. [But] events like PeaceOut and HomoHop start feeling like queer summer camp. Its awesome.”
