Lucky 7: Our Seventh Year in Review

The 2008 elections filled our hearts with hope even while the economic downturn emptied our pockets. We spoke out against corporate greed, fought for our right to marry and shamed those that would hold us down into becoming more tolerant. SS. DREW’S DUE

Possibly Worst Mom of the Year Lori Drew got charged with a felony after harassing one of her daughter’s friends on MySpace. Her target, 13-year-old Meghan Meier,
committed suicide after Drew repeatedly taunted her online. Blogs outed the Drew family and outraged citizens lined up outside their home to harass them. Drew was brought up on federal charges of conspiracy and misusing the Internet, but they didn’t stick. She remains, however, Mom Most Likely to Be Killed by an Angry Mob.
