“Every night we go to sleep happy and with too many pets squishing us in our bed,” say Bridget and Karman. “We are very spontaneous, we never know what’s going to happen next, and we like it that way.” The couple likes to chase each other around the house, and they revel in the knowledge that each has married her favorite playmate. Karman and Bridget were legally wed in California prior to the passage of Proposition 8; wisely, they eloped ahead of the big family wedding they’d planned to make certain their union would be legally recognized. “Our secret wedding was incredibly romantic. I wore a revealing red dress and Karman wore jeans. We only have a few blurry pictures of the ceremony and two faux diamond studded Bride & Bride pimp cups as reminders of the best day of my life,” says Bridget. In 2009 Bridget’s sister also married her wife, but there were no pimp cups and there were lots of family photos. “I think I got the better deal,” Bridget muses. Bridget and Karman met at a comedy club where Bridget was performing. “The moment we saw each other,” Bridget says, “we both knew instantly we were supposed to be together. Just like in the movies, I had that sensation of electricity running through my body and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. After our second date, we started talking about getting married.”
