Shacazia and Kristina connected on the ´ol Book of Faces and eventually agreed it was time to meet in person. That turned out to be an excellent decision; in fact, they reported to GO, it was “love at first sight.” Their key to happiness is this simple nugget of wisdom: Be authentic. “Our relationship has always been strong and natural because we allow each other to just be ourselves,” Shacazia says. “We never held back the true ´us´. There´s so much love we have for each other, and we´re very open about who we are individually. Plus, we are both so goofy and it´s been that way since day one!” Both women struggled with the hardships of a difficult past, which came with a silver lining; it nurtured their mutual passion for advocacy and helping others, and strengthened their partnership. “We both had similarly painful experiences in our past, so thanks to what we´ve both overcome individually, we´re better able to relate to one another and can offer one another a profound amount of strength and support,” Kristina says. “It´s an unspoken understanding we share, as well as respect for what we stand for.” Now, things are definitely looking up for this inspiring couple-Shacazia proposed on New Year´s Eve, Kristina´s favorite holiday. Kristina didn´t say yes… she said, “Absolutely!”
