The Broad City star is officially off the market!
Abbi Jacobson, 40, and Jodi Balfour, 37, recently exchanged ‘I dos’ during an intimate Brooklyn ceremony. The couple announced the news of their nuptials on social media Wednesday with a slew of gorgeous photos taken by Cultured Magazine.
The couple reveals their dinner was originally set to take place outdoors, but the New York weather had other plans. Unexpected rain moved the celebration indoors at Public Records in Boerum Hill.
Balfour, known for her roles in For All Mankind and Ted Lasso, told Cultured Mag it turned out perfectly.
“It really was ‘one of those nights,'”she said. The small crowd was celebrating “in a dark wooden room with no windows, [with] an insane sound system, and a disco ball” and “floral installations.” She continued, “everyone’s nice clothes became wet rags. People were smoking who don’t smoke. Our moms did the hora. It was like we all existed in a different dimension for a while.”
The vintage-looking wedding was full of flowers and sultry lighting. Jacobson and Balfour showed off their opposite styles: Jacobson in a strapless black gown and Balfour in a white flowing dress. The ensembles had one thing in common. They were both off the rack from The Row, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s clothing brand.
Though the celebration had a few snags, the couple wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It was such a kismet, because the ceremony was not what we expected, but it was exactly what we’d hoped for,” Jacobson said. “People were packed together. When we looked out at the audience, our friends were on stools, peeking through the plants, and sitting on top of the booths. I’ve never been to a wedding like that.”
The pair began dating in 2020 and went public with their relationship a year later, when they shared an anniversary post on Instagram.
We can’t wait to watch these two take on more red carpets together, posing hand-in-hand.
