The Rainbow Run, organized by Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, is an annual 5K or 10K fun run or leisure walk that promotes health, wellness, and supports the center’s lifesaving work. This year, the event takes place in-person at Manhattan’s Hudson River Park on Saturday, May 4, with a gathering at 9 a.m. for bib pick-up and warm-ups, followed by the run at 10 a.m. Virtual participation is also available from May 4 to May 12, allowing participants to run or walk at their convenience. Participants receive a package with a personal bib number and can also engage in fundraising, build teams, or consider sponsorship opportunities, with levels starting at $250.
Callen-Lorde is a leading provider of LGBTQ+ healthcare, with a long history dating back to the Stonewall era. They focus on delivering quality care to LGBTQ+ communities regardless of their ability to pay, advocate for social change, and educate the medical community. The Rainbow Run is an important fundraising event, with sponsorships supporting the organization’s mission to continue providing critical health services to those in need. For more information, interested participants can contact the organizers by email or phone, with a range of sponsors and community partners supporting the event.
