Break out the industrial strength Purell because HBO’s outbreak apocalypse series The Last of Us just dropped a season two trailer that will leave you feeling biologically attacked. But there’s also a hint of lesbian romance to balance out the considerable tension.
Of course, no amount of hand-scrubbing would save you from the parasitic fungal infection that has devastated mankind in the series. In season two, the threat is still very real as Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) return to ward off all manner of zombie creepy crawlers.

Viewers will meet a host of new characters pulled from the original Naughty Dog games the show is based on. Dina, played by Alien: Romulus star Isabela Merced, emerges as Ellie’s queer love interest, adding a new layer of complexity to the story.
The teaser trailer offers a fleeting but memorable glimpse of Dina and Ellie (Dillie?), as they share an intimate moment of slow dancing. In another gripping scene, Ellie and Dina move through an abandoned subway car, desperately trying to escape as the infected close in.

The Last of Us is returning to Max in April, with a specific premiere date to be announced at a later date.
