A fun little piece of pop trivia for you if you are as desperately obsessed with Julia Fox and The L Word as I am: Ms. Fox accredits some of her signature style to Bette, Shane, Alice, Jenny, and the rest of the gang.
In an interview published on Emmys.com yesterday, Julia Fox tells Stephan Horbelt about the TV shows that helped define her. Julia Fox: The TV That Made Me is a look into the fashion icon’s fictional character inspo and the cast is exactly as I always imagined: Desperate Housewives‘ Edie Britt, Sex and The City‘s Samantha, and the early 2000s girls in tight dresses who drag with mustaches.
When asked about what shows influence her personal style, she says, “[…] The L Word, […] was a big style inspo, because I just love lesbian style. That’s where I gravitate in my day-to-day comfort clothing. That’s a big one.”
She goes on to say, “Sex and the City was the backdrop of my life.”
Julia also speaks about her love for queer show Euphoria and childhood favorite, The Jerry Springer Show (also queer coded if you want my professional opinion).
Below, please enjoy some of my personal favorite Julia looks that may or may not have been inspired by Ilene Chaiken‘s lesbos of West Hollywood.
