Lady Gaga’s New Album ‘Chromatica’ Is Finally Here

Next stop, “Chromatica!”

Just in time for Pride, Lady Gaga has released “Chromatica,” her sixth studio album. The album has already debuted at number one on the iTunes charts in 57 countries and was put out on Friday, May 29th by Interscope Records.

In celebration of the drop of “Chromatica,” Gaga took to her Instagram to post a video of her dancing to “911” — a track from the new album.

“Chromatica” was originally scheduled to drop on April 10, 2020 but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Ariana Grande (“Rain On Me”), Elton John (“Sine From Above”), and BLACKPINK (“Sour Candy”) all make appearances on the album, Gaga’s first studio release since 2016’s “Joanne” and first music release since 2018’s “A Star Is Born” soundtrack. The album is executive produced by the artist herself and producer BloodPop.

“I will do whatever it takes to make the world dance and smile,” Lady Gaga told Paper Magazine. “I want to put out a record that forces people to rejoice even in their saddest moments.”

Fans are calling “Chromatica” a return to Gaga’s early music that was heavily-inspired by house and techno. This album saw collaborations with major electronic dance music (EDM) producers, like Skrillex, Tchami, and Max Martin. The latest single release from “Chromatica,” “Rain On Me,” features Grande and has been dubbed the biggest Spotify release of 2020 and set the record for the most single-day streams from an all-woman collaboration. Hitting number one on the Global and US Spotify Charts upon release didn’t hurt much, either, and even the video — released last Friday — has now amassed over 57 million views.

If that’s how amazing one single did, we have high hopes that Gaga’s full album is going to follow suit and be the next big banger of 2020. Next stop, “Chromatica!”
