In order to create a neurodiversity affirming society for neurodivergent people, we need to decenter neuronormativity.
Sonny Jane, a trans non-binary and multiply neurodivergent advocate and author of We’re All Neurodiverse, is visiting from Australia to bring their signature seminar on unpacking and decentering neuronormativity.
This in person seminar aims to deepen your understanding of neuronormativity and explore how we can begin to decanter neuronormative expectations, ideals and standards within our classrooms, workplaces and relationships with each other and ourselves. You will walk away learning about the relationship between neuronormativity, cisheteronormativity, capitalism and white supremacy and just how the DSM reinforces neuronormativity.
This event will feature a 1.5 hour seminar and Q&A with an optional “hang around and chat” after the seminar.
