Join Us on World Refugee Day, (June 20 at 1 p.m. ET) for a digital pride event organized by the RDJ Refugee Shelter, a New York shelter for homeless refugees and asylum seekers. This gathering will celebrate “the large pool of displaced people who identify as LGBTQ.”
RDJ is working alongside Rainbow Railroad, Immigration Equality, ALLOUT, QDEP, Parity, The Brooklyn Community Pride Center, and Lab Shul to create an event that will represent the geographic diversity of the LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers community.
Featured speaker Amin, who survived the purge in Chechnya, a client of Rainbow Railroad, Ricardo Medina is a Paralegal/Legal Assistant at Immigration Equality and host of other refugees and asylum seekers will be sharing their story.
