Holland Taylor Praises Sarah Paulson’s First Tony Nomination

“So worthy – of all good things. And of all my love.”

Actress and beloved lesbian icon Sarah Paulson celebrated her Tony award nomination yesterday — but nobody was more excited than her long-time girlfriend Holland Taylor.

Paulson, best known for her roles on American Horror Story and The People v. O.J. Simpson, was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Play for her latest role as Antoinette in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ drama Appropriate. Her character is the oldest sibling in a dysfunctional family reunited after the death of their father.

While she has a few awards under her belt, including a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe, this is her first Tony nomination.

The news certainly had her feeling emotional. Paulson shared some sentimental thoughts on Instagram Tuesday.

“I’ve had some really special acknowledgments in my career – I’ve been wildly lucky. But I have dreamt about this since I was a child, a little girl walking around NYC holding hands with my 27-year-old single mother and my sweet baby sister, looking up at Broadway marquees and dreaming,” she wrote.

Paulson called the play the “hardest work [she’s] ever done”, as well as the “most fortifying” and the “biggest gift”.

Holland was quick to chime in and put the spotlight on her partner.

“So worthy – of all good things. And of all my love,” she wrote on Instagram.

Paulson commented, “I love you completely”.
