On Sunday, Oct 24, the Miss LEZ Pageant 2010 sold out, as host Murray Hill pointed out, on a Sunday night in the middle of Brooklyn. The glamorous and dapper contestants in the legendary pageant, in its 10th year, played to a house of super-excited lesbians. Some big names in the New York City lesbian community were represented: playwright Kimberlea Kressal was seen cheering on Vicki Sin, Miss Lesbian Love Octagon; Deb Malkin of ReDress NYC seemed to peer over the judges’ shoulder to calculate how ReDress entrant AfroTitty was faring. Later, when Ks Stevens, Miss LEZ 2009, took the stage in a commanding performance in a NYC police uniform, the crowd went wild! In the end, AfroTitty won Miss Congeniality, Ariel Speedwagon of Sarah Jenny’s Hey Queen won 1st runner-up while Drae Campbell (Miss Rebel Cupcake) was crowned Miss LEZ 2010.
