Cindi Creager
As GLAAD’s Director of National News, Creager works to ensure fair, accurate and inclusive national news coverage for LGBT Americans. Her 13 years as a gay journalist makes Creager ideally suited as a media and community resource for national news outlets, individuals and organizations. She was an anchor, reporter and news director before working at ABC in various capacities, then joining GLAAD in 2005. “I believe the media is the most powerful tool for changing perceptions about who we are,” says Creager. In 2000 she co-founded an independent documentary production company, CreagerCole Productions, with her partner of 8 years, Rainie Cole.?Since 2004 the couple has been working on a documentary called TransJourneys, about dispelling myths, biases and stereotypes in the trans community. Creager’s goal is to have TransJourneys in a major film festival in 2009. –DP
