Video of the Day: “Ovum” is a Queer, Quirky, Feminist Love Story About Egg Donation

Sonja O’Hara’s new movie borrows from real life (literally).

Ovum is a new dark comedy following a young actress, Calpurnia (writer/star Sonja O’Hara), who starts to consider egg donation after method acting for a new role leads her to a clinic. She strikes up a deal with an aging movie star, but things get complicated fast and she starts to question her decision. (Even more interesting, the film is based on O’Hara’s own experiences in egg donation, which also partly funded the film itself.)

Quirky, queer and feminist as hell, Ovum will be available on DVD and VOD as of April 11.
