In honor of Spirit Day, Kellogg’s launched a special new LGBTQ-themed cereal. It’s called “All Together Cereal,” and it promotes acceptance by combining several of your favorite cereals into one box.
Kellogg’s announced the new cereal alongside a $50,000 donation to GLAAD for Spirit Day on October 17. Spirit Day is celebrated every October to encourage people to stand up for LGBTQ youth against bullies.
For $19.99, you can order a limited edition box of All Together Cereal. The box is colored purple, the official Spirit Day color. Inside, you’ll find some well-known Kellogg’s cereals: Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Rice Krispies, Raisin Bran, and Frosted Mini-Wheats. This is the first time that all six cereals have been offered together in one box.
“The box brings together six of the famous Kellogg mascots and cereals inside the same carton as a symbol of acceptance no matter how you look, where you’re from or who you love,” the company explained, per PinkNews.
Chief diversity officer Priscilla Koranteng explained that Kellogg’s is committed to allyship with the LGBTQ community.
“At Kellogg, we are firmly committed to equality and inclusion in the workplace, marketplace and in the communities where we work and live,” Koranteng said.
This funky cereal isn’t the first example of the company’s LGBTQ-supportive values. They’ve worked with GLAAD on Spirit Day in previous years, sponsored a Pride march in Atlanta, and created an ad campaign featuring drag queens, among other efforts.
John McCourt of GLAAD says the organization was excited to partner with Kellogg’s once again this year.
“The All Together cereal encompasses the values of diversity, equality, and solidarity that Spirit Day is all about, and we hope that LGBTQ youth everywhere receive the messages loud and clear,” McCourt said.
