JENNY HAGEL

Multitalented comedy writer, performer and filmmaker Jenny Hagel’s work has been featured on Funny or Die, Jezebel.com, Slate.com and LOGO. Currently the head writer of MTV pop culture show 10 on Top, her other writing credits include The Big Gay Sketch Show and the NewNowNext Awards, as well as the original web series Feminist Rapper and short films Crafty and Positive Comment, in which she also starred. Her latest short film, Tech Support, has won awards at festivals in Pittsburgh, Fresno, Hamburg and Grenoble. Her goal is simple: make people laugh. “If, while they’re laughing, I can also get them to think about some aspect of the world around us, that’s an awesome bonus,” Hagel says. “There are lots of things that supposedly ‘feel good’—winning the lottery, rescuing a baby from a burning building, heroin. I’d be willing to bet that making people laugh feels better than all of them.” –CM
