Tegan & Sara

Throughout the past decade, the indie rock duo Tegan and Sara—comprised of identical twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin—has become a symbol of LGBT youth, with all of its strength, talent, sweetness, passion and heartache. From their signature love songs, acoustic performances and electro/dance collaborations to their ON, IN, AT book set and community-building projects, the Canadian siblings have infiltrated multiple facets of queer culture. Musical collaborators since high school, the Quins were signed by Elliot Roberts and Neil Young to Vapor Records in 2000, and have since toured with The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie and Paramore, among others. Of their extensive touring, Tegan told GO in an interview, “I’d like to make the world a better place, and that starts with going to lots of different places and being outspoken about who we are and what we believe.” –CM
