From September 18 to October 30, 2022 The Village Preservation is presenting “Village Voices,” an interactive outdoor exhibition of 24 interactive installations displayed throughout New York City’s Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo neighborhoods. Village residents Rachel Maddow, John Leguizamo, Norman Reedus, Ed Norton, Kathleen Chalfant and other notable have recorded insights about the neighborhoods’ trailblazers, all accessed via QR codes located at each installation. Jane Jacobs, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, Billie Holiday, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Edward Hopper, Leontyne Price, Merce Cunningham, Joseph Papp, and photographer Helen Levitt are among those celebrated.
