Learn the distinctions between live-streaming and digital capture, and how to incorporate them into your development plans, as well as use them for marketing and exposure and to extend the life and value of your creative property. An unfortunate aspect of live events is that many productions – especially those by unknown writers and fledgling theater companies – run for a very limited time. Cennarium is a new company that offers a means of extending the shelf life of new work, essentially Netflix for theater and other performing art forms. BroadwayHD has developed a sophisticated streaming network that archives and offers viewers a tremendous range of live performances that have been digitally captured so major productions are made accessible to an entire market of potential audience members. And both Broadway producer Michael Alden and Tilted Windmills Theatricals have turned their energies to developing new work through a 21st -century model that incorporates live-streaming to bridge the gap between the popular and performing arts. Come learn about the future of live theater in a digital world, with expert guidance on the complicated licensing hurdles that sometimes need to be dealt with.
