The staff of GO is thrilled to reactivate our live events calendar and weekly party roundups as we continue to serve our community by presenting the best in arts, entertainment, and nightlife event listings for our readers. However, especially given the Omicron variant, we adamantly recommend that all who consider venturing out to any public event continue to intelligently and carefully assess any risks involved in attending such events. GO recommends regularly checking CDC guidelines and updates regarding Covid-19 and strongly encourages our readers to vet any venue or event’s Covid-19 protocols before attending. There is nothing we care more about than the safety and health of our beautiful community members and the safety and health of their friends and loved ones. Please join us by continuing to do your part in stopping the spread of this virus.

June 10 – July 10 @ Maggi Peyton Gallery
In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, Rags and Riches is an exhibition celebrating the vitality of the LGBTQIA art and performance community. A family gathering of sorts, the exhibition is organized around the diverse photographic works of Jean Sonderand, whose behind-the-scenes views into drag, theater, dance, and performance art spaces reveal the grace, humor, and intimacy of the queer-arts community. Featured alongside this archive are a number of artists seen in the images themselves, who have been invited to exhibit a variety of artworks, including paintings, poetry, and personal ephemera, opening a door between the public and private experiences that blossom between members of the LGBTQIA community.
Please join us at Maggi Peyton gallery on June 10th at 6pm for the opening reception of Rags and Riches, hosted by and located within the Manhattan Borough President’s Office at 1 Centre St. on the 19th Floor.
Note: Enter the municipal building through the South entrance. FYI, there is a security checkpoint for bags and a metal detector. The gallery is located just off the lobby of the President’s Office.
