Dance Parade, the grand celebration of dance with 130 dance groups, thousands of dancing paraders showing over 100 genres of dance, returns LIVE with “Back to the Streets,” Saturday May 21st. The event opens with a noon ribbon cutting by Mayor Eric Adams on 20th St. & Broadway. Led by the Yunist School of Ukrainian Dance joined by this year’s Grand Marshals Heidi Latsky, DJ Rich Medina, and Eduardo Vilaro, the joyous event moves down Broadway to Astor Place, where bandstands will be set up for viewers to watch short performances by selected companies. The festivities continue across St. Mark’s Place to Tompkins Square Park, where 5 stages will be set up for more performances and free dance lessons. Participating companies include Ballet Hispanico, Heidi Latsky Dance, Asian, Bolivian, Flamenco, Mexican, Bellydance companies, and much more.

DANCEFEST: 3pm -7pm, Tompkins Square Park. Post-Parade Festival on
five stages. Aerial performances, a dance party, free dance lessons from the
city’s best teachers, and more!
