Dyke Nite hosted by Dyke Bar Take Over at Friends and Lovers was the perfect way to celebrate and honor our vets this past Veterans Day. Veterans attended free of charge and all proceeds went to NYC Chapter of American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER): American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER) is a non-profit, non-partisan, chapter-based Veterans Service Organization of active, reserve, and veteran service members dedicated to full and equal rights and equitable treatment for all present and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces, especially the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender current and prior military personnel who have been historically disenfranchised by armed forces policy and discriminatory laws governing military service and benefits. Shout out to DJ Andro and Jade Zabric for their lovely live music! Stunning burlesque performances by Buckwild Soulchild, La Pobresita, and Foxy Belle Afriq left us wanting more!

The Stonewall Inn Disaster Relief Fund hosted by Ariel Sinclair, Brenda Dharling, and Ari Kiki was a great night for a great cause, with special guests Jacqueline Dupree, Vicky Boofont, Saline Dijoin, Victoria Falls, Ellia J Garlands, Poppi Kramer, and DJ Chauncey D! All proceeds went to delivering-good.org providing supplies to those affected by hurricanes Harvey, Maria, and Irma. The Center’s Women’s Event at Capitale was incredibly powerful and amazing this year! It was a fab night of cocktails, dinner and dancing to celebrate the women in our community who are shaking things up! The Women’s Event raised funds that directly benefit The Center’s programs for lesbians, bisexual women and transgender people. The evening included powerful speeches from event honorees; Bernadette Harrigan, Lisa A. Linsky, Esq. Chirlane McCray and Sara Ramirez. #WeWereThere were you?!

Special thanks to The Silent Barn and DJ Tikka Masala for hosting a dope dance called The Wetlands! All the proceeds raised by this magical night were donated to The Trans Disaster Relief Fund. Created by the Transgender Foundation of America; their mission is to help the trans, intersex and genderqueer community affected by the extreme difficulties in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
