Why Every East Coast Lez Needs to Book a Ticket to Aqua Girl Immediately

The end of summer is about to get even hotter.

Attention lesbians: this is not a drill. The hottest fall party, like, EVER, will be going down September 27 to October 1 in the sexy, sweaty, sultry South Beach. Purr. And if you haven’t already, it’s time to get your Aqua Girl tickets so we can all dance under the Miami sun together like the lez goddesses intended.

Aqua Girl is an iconic five-day celebration and the largest gay women’s charity event in the country. Each year, thousands of babes from all over the world come together celebrate their lives — laughing, swimming, sharing, dancing, and playing together.

That’s right, ladies, Aqua Girl is back for another year of sun, swimming, swigging back drinks, and sizzling heat. Miami is just so HOT (literally and metaphorically). This year marks 19 years of giving back to the community, celebrating equality, and turning up.

If you’re an east coast dyke like me, you might be feeling that crippling sense of anxiety and depression over summer coming to an end. It’s only a matter of time until we’ll be piling on layers of ugly puffy coats, slipping on ice, and hibernating all weekend instead of hanging out at lez watering holes. Which is exactly why you need to book your Aqua Girl ticket and extend the summer! You still have a tan, you have plenty of bikinis, and you aren’t ready for falling leaves and pumpkin spice — am I right? So come with me to beautiful Miami.

What goes on at Aqua Girl, you ask? Why, only the most sexy and sophisticated parties, events, and hangs.

Aqua Girl will be featuring nine cultural events and parties, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Aqua Foundation for Women, the not-for-profit-foundation whose primary focus is to promote the equality, strength, health, and visibility of lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer women. So you can party on sandy beaches with sexy lesbians, all while supporting a good cause. The events include A Taste of Justice VIP Cocktail Event presented by NCLR, Aqualicious Pool Party, and Revolution Tea Dance presented by IMPULSE, just to name a few.

This year’s celebration brings back the founder of Aqua Girl, Alison Burgos, along with Yesi Leon and Amy Alonso of Pandora Events, as well as Lynn Bové of iCandee Events. “I am elated to come back and bring old and new friends together to create a reinvigorated Aqua Girl festival that is modern and fresh,” stated Burgos in a press release.

Aqua Girl babes can hang at the exclusive oceanfront host resort, The National Hotel. If you’ve been, then you know this stunning Art Deco landmark is newly renovated and boasts one of the most beautiful pools in South Beach. (A pool that will be filled with hot queer babes, might I remind you.) Rates start at $155 a night and the pool parties are free for hotel guests.

Now lez get to the ~talent~. The line up of hosts, djs/producers, and performers is lit with appearances by Vogue cover girl and singer Madison Paige, YouTube sensation Arielle Scarcella, Amber’s Closet (my personal crush, have you SEEN her muscles?), Real L Word alumni Rose Garcia, all taking on hosting duties, and beats day and night by DJ/Producer Whitney Day, DJ Toni K, DJ/Producer Citizen Jane, DJ Zehno, DJ Miss M, DJ DLux, DJ Laura D, DJ Bonnie Beats, and DJ/Producer CINDEL. Not to mention, some of our favorite hot go-go babes Scarlett Snow and Ivy Les Vixen will be shaking it for us. I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready to immerse myself in babes, beats, and booze.

So pack your thong bikini and your tallest wedge sandals, or your hottest button-up and most stylish fedora — just don’t forget sunscreen. The end of summer is about to get even hotter.

Don’t miss your chance to escape the crazy city for chic and sleek South Beach. Don’t miss the biggest turn up before winter is here! Passes and tickets are selling quick; there are options for every babe’s taste and everyone’s budget.
