As we head into election season, are you wondering where the Presidential candidates stand on the LGBT issues that matter most? Wanda Sykes is here to help.
Logo and the politically minded, Emmy-winning comedian will lead the discussion with a series of two “NewNowNext Vote with Wanda Sykes” election specials to shine a spotlight on the state of national politics through an LGBT lens.
Taped in front of a live studio audience in Times Square, the specials will feature a rapid-fire, roundtable format with panelists from both sides of the political aisle. The first of two one-hour specials will air four days after the Democratic National Convention, on Monday, September 10 at 10pm EST/PT followed by the second special on election eve, Monday, November 5 (time TBA) on Logo.
The “NewNowNext Vote with Wanda Sykes” specials will touch on hot topics for the LGBT voter including marriage equality, Supreme Court appointments, the economy and affordable healthcare. Commentary sparked by the trending news from the campaign trail will add to the mix.
“I’m excited to be working with Logo,” Sykes said. “These specials will be thought provoking, exciting, and the perfect forum to discuss important issues facing our community. Plus, it is Logo so maybe I’ll get to dress in drag!”
Sykes does have political experience of a sort. In 2009 she headlined the White House Correspondents Association dinner, cracking up President Obama and the cream of the Washington journalism corps.
