Sandra Bernhard, Rachael Sage, Holiday Spectacular

Art-pop songstress Rachael Sage returns to Joe’s Pub Dec 22 with Tchatchkes & Latkes!, a holiday-themed edition of her latest musical mishugas, Sequins & Shpiel! Sage, who has shvitzed with the New York City Ballet, will weave songs from her eight-album discography with shpiels about her life as a former ballerina, adventures on the road and her family’s extensive menorah collection. Expect a healthy mix of vaudevillian shtick, playful Yiddishkeit and Sage’s pianistic flair with special guests, cellist Dave Eggar and singer/songwriter Michelle Citrin. All net proceeds benefit Hurricane Sandy relief.

Don’t miss the New York Gay Men’s Choir’s 2012 Holiday Spectacular: An American Holiday at Town Hall Dec 16. An annual concert filled with energy, life and joy, the show celebrates American yuletide songs and pays tribute to our country’s heroes. The evening will include a performance by folk music legend Judy Collins.

Sandra Bernhard will rock Joe’s Pub Dec 27 through New Year’s Eve with her hysterical insight, outspoken views and outrageous mouth. Sandra’s brilliant unity of hilarious diatribes on the state of modern culture and classic rock attitude burns smart and true. Her show is fresh, real and crazier than ever. Performing with her band, The Rebellious Jezebels, she regularly brings audiences to their feet.
