Seven Minutes In Heaven with Fluide Makeup Co-Founder Isabella Giancarlo

There are infinite ways to create a lewk.

Us GO Gals love our makeup, and we recently discovered the absolutely fab gender fluid makeup brand Fluide. “Fluide is a collection of colorful, cruelty-free makeup for all gender expressions, gender identities and skin tones. Fluide was created with the belief that makeup is a tool of transformation and a powerful means of self-actualization. Inspired by our community, Fluide showcases radical, forward-thinking style.”

We wore our Fluide liquid lipsticks throughout The Dinah Shore and they LASTED through all the partying, swimming, and general debauchery. So trust us when we say these are amazing liquid lipsticks, honey. We fell so in love with Fluide that we wanted to get to know the babe behind the brand.

GO: What is the most exciting part of creating a makeup line?

IG: The community—who are truly the muses behind the brand. It’s inspiring to see the infinite ways that people use fashion and style as a means of self-expression—to be glamorous, irreverent, defiant, political, otherworldly. It feels so good to support and be a platform for showcasing that radical, forward-thinking style.

GO: What was the most important aspect for you in creating Fluide?

IG: We came together around this idea that makeup can be a tool of transformation and a powerful means of self-actualization. As our Creative Director, it was important that we showcase and celebrate the self-expression of people of all gender expressions and identities—and continue to work to represent an inclusive and expansive definition of beauty.

GO: Where do you go for inspiration when you’re feeling discouraged or depleted?

IG: I constantly feel energized by queer spaces and events: the exuberance, the positivity, the possibility, warmth, home-ness. (At Fluide, we actually name all of our shades after queer spaces!) There are so many incredible events popping up around New York, like Queer Soup Night, Babetown, PAT, and events hosted by venues like C’mon Everybody and Secret Project Robot, to name a few. Plus, a night of dancing never hurts.
