Billie Eilish came to some big revelations while working on her newest album Hit Me Hard and Soft last year.
“I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina,” she told the Rolling Stone in a recent interview.
The 22-year-old opened up about her experience channeling her sexuality into music- something she would have never done a few years ago.
“I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years. It’s really frustrating to me that it came up,” she says.
Come up it did. Her red carpet interview with Variety Magazine in 2023 turned everyone’s heads after Billie mentioned she liked women “for real”. She’s since explained she never meant to come out and actually believed her sexuality was obvious.
Although her romantic relationships have been kept mostly under wraps, Billie revealed quite a few sexual details about her personal life during the interview.
“TMI, but self-pleasure is an enormous, enormous part of my life, and a huge, huge help for me,” she says. “People should be jerking it, man. I can’t stress it enough, as somebody with extreme body issues and dysmorphia that I’ve had my entire life.”
Billie says she uses sex to decompress and uses masturbation to form a deeper connection and love with her body.
“I should have a Ph.D. in masturbation,” she jokes.
Sex definitely seems to play a large part in her new album, along with her self-discovery. Both of which are reflected in her song ‘Lunch’, which she teased during Coachella.
“That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real,” she says. “I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after.”
Hit Me Hard and Soft is set to be released on May 17.
