Billie Eilish fans have officially catapulted her to the Spotify Hall of Fame.
On Monday, the streaming platform announced Eilish officially dethroned The Weeknd as the most streamed monthly artist. The “Lunch” singer officially surpassed 100 million monthly listeners in June, according to Billboard. As of August, she has 100.1 million listeners, while The Weeknd has 99.8 million.
The nine-time Grammy award-winner is only the third artist to pass the mark- following The Weeknd and Taylor Swift, who currently has 91.7 million monthly listeners. At 22 years old, Eilish is also the youngest artist to do so.
Eilish is the fifth most streamed artist of the year on Spotify so far with a total of 6.8 billion total streams, according to Spotify Daily Data. Taylor Swift takes the number one spot (20 billion) followed by The Weeknd (8.3 billion), Drake (8.1 billion), and Bad Bunny (7 billion).
Eilish’s success comes as no surprise. Her most recent album Hit Me Hard and Soft, which dropped in May, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and has remained on the chart for 13 weeks. It now sits at No. 4, behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poet’s Society, Chappell Roan‘s The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, and Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time.
Her sultry feature on Charli XCX’s song “Guess” rocked the WLW world and earned over 42 million streams in its first week. The song’s music video (which we’ve all watched at least five times) has over 16 million views since its release two weeks ago.
Eight of Eilish’s 82 songs have made it into Spotify’s Billions Club by surpassing 1 billion streams. “Lovely” featuring Khalid, “Bad Guy,” “When the Party’s Over,” “Everything I Wanted,” “Ocean Eyes,” “Happier Than Ever,” “Idontwannabeyouanymore,” and “Bury a Friend” make up the list.
The star is ramping up to head on the Hit Me Hard And Soft tour in September. The nearly sold-out arena tour kicks off in Canada before heading to parts of the U.S., Australia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, and the UK. The tour concludes in July 2025 in Ireland.
