20 Trans Day of Visibility Events Happening Across The US

From concerts to bingo, there’s something for everyone!

Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual observance on March 31 to celebrate transgender people and raise awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide.

The day was created in 2009 by Rachel Crandall-Crocker, a transgender woman and the founder of Transgender Michigan, in response to the overwhelming majority of media stories about transgender people being focused on violence. Crandall hoped to create a day where people could re-focus on celebrating the lives of transgender people, empowering them to live authentically, while still acknowledging that due to discrimination, not every trans person can or wants to be visible.

It’s more important than ever to not only encourage trans people to be visible but also to be visible in support of the community. If you are looking to show up for trans people this TDOV, we have rounded up 20 events that are happening across the country.
