100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Aja

Aja is the principal owner of Jove Baian Enterprise, LLC, a marketing consulting firm. Through Jove Baian she manages, coordinates, and arranges the marketing, branding and networking for such artists as singer Pamela Xing and DJs Bklyn Storm and Mark James. She is also the producer of Cirrah Fridays, a fun filled nightlife event for Women of Color with the mantra “You be YOU!” Aja sharpened her
promotional skills through community service commitments to NYCHA Coney Island Houses Tenant Association, being an awarded member of Girl Scouts of America and as Executive Council Member and Director of Evangelism at Safe Haven UCC. Explaining her commitment to both her business and charity work, she says, “Taking the gifts I was given, and using them to assist others achieve their
ultimate self is always worth the long, sleepless, hours.” -CB

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
