Rock The Rainbow For A Good Cause With Express’ Pride Collection

Express pledged to donate a minimum of $100,000 to GLAAD!

Express announced today that it will be launching the “Love Unites” line, their 2019 Pride collection, in partnership with GLAAD. The clothing line is a gender-fluid collection of pieces honoring the community’s togetherness and individuality. The proceed donations will begin on July 15, with the company pledging to donate 25% of net income from the line to GLAAD. Regardless of the overall profits, though, Express has also committed to a minimum $100,000 donation to the LGBTQ organization.

“Since our inception in 1980, unity and acceptance have been core values for Express. We also recognize the importance of representation and are delighted to offer a platform for members of the LGBTQ+ community to tell their own stories,” said Patrice Croci, Express Vice President of Brand and Performance Marketing, via an email release. “It’s an honor and a privilege to continue to support the important work GLAAD does every day with Love Unites.”

In an effort to highlight real and diverse queer voices, Express partnered with the staff of Out Magazine to present individual stories to accompany the clothing. Specifically, Editor-in-chief Philip Picardi, executive editor Raquel Willis, and associate managing editor Coco Romack are all showcased in a series of photos and videos that touch on their own queer journeys.

“The Express Love Unites collection showcases the talented editors of Out Magazine and the communities they represent, and GLAAD is proud to be a partner alongside them,” said Zeke Stokes, GLAAD Chief Programs Officer, in a statement. “The visibility that this collection will garner in hundreds of Express retail locations will help accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community and enable people of all genders to dress with Pride.”

The Love Unites collection features 35 pieces, including 19 online exclusives. Each piece in the line is designed to be mixed and matched in whatever way you want, encouraging and celebrating self-expression.
