Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker Share a Courtside Kiss At New York Liberty Game

The music power couple made a surprise stop at Barclays Center before their boygenius bandmate Phoebe Bridgers takes over the arena for the weekend.

While the New York Liberty may have suffered a loss against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday night, Liberty fans at Barclays Center still had something to cheer for: a surprise appearance made by music power couple Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.

Dacus and Baker were spotted by some eagle-eyed fans before the game officially started, sitting next to one another under the basket. When the celebrity row camera cut to a shot of the beloved super-couple, Dacus and Baker were all-smiles before sharing a sweet kiss garnering cheers from the crowd. After the kiss, the pair beamed and laughed as the camera lingered on them.

Fans were quick to point out that the couple might be in town due to their boygenius bandmate Phoebe Bridgers’ upcoming sold-out shows this weekend at Barclays. Could the Brooklyn arena host a boygenius reunion on stage? Will Dacus and Baker make a surprise appearance at MUNA’s Sunday night performance at All Things Go in Queens?

After some surprise show appearances, Baker announced that she will embark on tour of three-night residencies in six cities throughout the country to play a mix of old and new music. Baker hasn’t been on the road consistently since the boygenius tour in 2024 after she dropped out of her tour with Torres to “prioritize her well-being and take time to focus on her health.” Baker’s last solo album, Little Oblivions, came out back in 2021.

Dacus officially closed off the Forever Is A Feeling era earlier this month with a final show at the Hollywood Bowl accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Cat Powers. While the love-soaked era will certainly be missed, if there’s one artist who will never disappoint, it’s Lucy Dacus. Take your time on the next project queen, we’ll be waiting patiently.
