Here is your lesbian guide to the events and queer players to watch this WNBA All-Star Weekend.

The best weekend in women’s sports is here! This WNBA season has already been a rough one, with increased eyes and fans has come increased discourse, hate and pressure. All-Star Weekend is a time to remember that this league is about joy, team-work and overall, good basketball. So, here is your lesbian guide to the events and queer players to watch this weekend.

Thursday, July 23

StudBudz Stream – 2 pm ET

The infamous studs of the WNBA are back twin! After their iconic 72-hour livestream of last year’s WNBA All-Star Weekend, the player duo of Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman is back to give us an exclusive look behind the scenes. Last year we had drunk shenanigans, accidental lesbian couple reveals and a whole bunch of “fine shit.”

Ditching the pink hair, the Budz are back and bluer than ever. You can catch their stream here at 2 pm ET.

WNBA Live – 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET

Starting Thursday and running through Sunday, this WNBA fan fest is the place to be! Fans will have opportunities to meet their favorite players, attend panel discussions, get exclusive merch, compete in basketball contests, and more.

The sapphic stars will be out at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Paige Bueckers, Lauren Betts, Olivia Miles and Azzi Fudd have all been announced as appearances for Friday and Saturday.

Orange Carpet – 7:30 PM ET

The WNBA is rolling out the orange carpet for its stars before the festivities start on Friday. This year’s carpet will be hosted by Ari Chambers and Jordan Robinson and the player host will be iconic rookie Flau’jae Johnson. Last year’s carpet served us looks, Paige Bueckers calling Azzi Fudd her girlfriend, the StudBudz calling every person “fine shit” and an after-party that brought all the chaos. Friday July 24

Unrivaled Coffee Club – 12 pm – 6 pm ET

Everyone’s favorite off-season league will be appearing in Chicago to serve fans some fresh brews. Throughout the day Unrivaled players Napheesa Collier, Olivia Miles, Marina Mabrey, Gabby Williams, Marine Johannes, KK Arnold and more will be literally serving fans their drinks. A new player will arrive at Drip Collective every hour to take on a shift. It might not be Unrivaled season yet but Ms. Phee is putting those girls to work!

3-Point Contest + Shooting Stars – 8pm ET

Let the games begin! The competition begins to heat up at 8 pm at the Wintrust Arena on Friday with this year’s 3-point contest and Shooting Stars Contest. The 3-point contest will feature rookie Azzi Fudd, who has the chance to become the first rookie to ever win the contest, alongside Rhyne Howard, Marina Mabrey, Bridget Carleton, Natisha Hiedeman, and Janelle Salaun. If her UConn days tell us anything, it’s that Fudd can absolutely demolish a 3-point shoot-out, but, only time will tell.

The Shooting Stars will feature four teams representing the Minnesota, Seattle, Washington and Dallas/Detroit franchises. Teams will feature WNBA legends Rebekkah Brunson, Lauren Jackson, Elena Delle Donne, and Deanna “Tweety” Nolan paired with current rising stars Jessica Shepard, Courtney Williams, Shakira Austin and Flau’jae Johnson. The teams will have 70 seconds to score as many points from seven shooting locations around the court.

Saturday, July 25

Celebrity 3-Point Contest – 2 pm ET

Before the big game, Celebrity guests will appear at the WNBA Live event to participate in the annual Celebrity 3-Point Contest. This year’s guests are all-around icon Keke Palmer, actress, writer and producer Issa Rae, content creator Maya Higa, WNBA rookie standout Olivia Miles, and sports journalist Allie Clifton. The event will be hosted by Jess Sims and will be streamed by the StudBudz.

The Game – 8:30 pm ET

The moment we have all been waiting for, the annual All-Star Game, will take place at 8:30 pm ET at the United Center in Chicago. To commemorate the league’s 30th anniversary year, the two teams will be coached by icons Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon.

Team Coop, coached by Las Vegas Aces’ Becky Hammon, will start queer legends Paige Bueckers, Breanna Stewart, Natasha Howard, Gabby Williams alongside Kelsey Mitchell. Coop’s bench is stacked with Jackie Young, Angel Reese, Marina Mabrey, Kahleah Cooper, and more.

Team Spoon, coached by Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve, will start queer players Olivia Miles and Jessica Shepard alongside Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, and Aliyah Boston. Their bench is powerful with Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Jonquel Jones, Courtney Williams and more.

The halftime show will be unmissable with two-time Grammy winner Tyla set to take the stage.

If last year was any indication, All-Star Weekend is simply the best time to be a WNBA fan. The chaos, the camaraderie, and overall summer camp vibes remind us that these players aren’t bitter rivals, they’re part of something bigger and more joyful.
