Carleen Haughton, owner of Bristen’s Eatery in Crown Heights, Brooklyn was born in Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to the United States in 1984. She graduated from Hofstra University with a BS in Economics and Finance, and worked on Wall Street for 18 years. After 9/11, Haughton “decided it was important to do what I was passionate about.” In 2007, she graduated from The Institute of Culinary Education and opened Bristen’s Eatery. Haughton is committed to keeping prices affordable, while also using the best ingredients from local farmers and other local businesses. The menu includes hearty dishes such as omelettes, French toast, pancakes, generously stuffed paninis and burgers. Bristen’s is also dedicated to the community and working with youth. Her goal is to maintain a safe place for people to exchange information, have community meetings, play dates or just chat.

Julien Sharp
Founder, Stylo Creative Communications
Julien Sharp, founder of Stylo Creative Communications, cut her marketing teeth on a cruise ship, literally. As both an entertainer and cruise director, Sharp produced daily programs of activities and marketing materials for the ship’s vendors. Of the experience, Sharp says, “I learned journalism 101 on the sea.” Now an accomplished writer and marketing/communications/social media consultant, Sharp founded Stylo to connect small and medium-sized businesses with the newest technologies at affordable prices. With offices in New York City and Miami, Stylo provides content and creative services for those organizations without on-staff writers or designers. Stylo also specializes in social media marketing solutions, as well as managing social media site builds and community growth. Sharp is also the author of the book Design and Launch an Online Networking Business in a Week and a contributor to Masters of Sales: Secrets From Top Sales Professionals That Will Transform You Into A World Class Salesperson (Entrepreneur Press).
