Far-right Commentator Milo Yiannopoulos Is Reportedly in ICE Custody
He’d been a vocal supporter of ICE and Trump’s immigration crackdown.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has reportedly detained Milo Yiannopoulos, the British “ex-gay” far-right provocateur known for his rampant sexist, transphobic, and racist content.
According to U.S. officials and agency records seen by CBS News, Yiannopoulos was apprehended in New Orleans and is in an ICE holding center in Louisiana. He is facing a final order of removal.
He was in New Orleans to see Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, the outlet reports.
He was behind West’s presidential bid in 2022. He also worked as an unpaid intern for Republican former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. He is also a former editor of the right-wing website Breitbart.
Yiannopoulos, who said he was an “ex-gay” several years ago and even last year said he regretted what he said was his mainstreaming of homosexuality in the Republican Party, has been a vocal supporter of ICE.
“California needs ICE checkpoints at supermarket entrances, gas stations, strip malls, intersections and government buildings, with on the spot deportation for anyone who can’t prove they are in the US legally,” Yiannopoulos wrote on social media in June 2025.
Online, social media pointed out the irony of the detainment.
“You’ve had a tough week. You can have one leopards-eating-faces-style Milo Yiannopoulos detention, as a treat,” one user wrote.
Another wrote, “Welp, this will never not be funny, lol. UK, y’all gotta take back your trash.”
