At the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, Niecy Nash-Betts graced The Ericka Nicole Malone Indie Directors & Creators Lounge with an inspiring presence. The accomplished actress and wife of musician Jessica Betts shared the profound impact of her earliest memories of seeing powerful Black women in film, reflecting on how those moments shaped her journey.
One particular experience—witnessing the stunning triple-threat entertainer Lola Falana on TV—”stamped my destiny on the canvas of my imagination,” Nash said.
Sundance kicked off on January 23 and runs through February 2. Online screenings are available for everyone whose winter travel plans do not include a last-minute pit stop in Park City, Utah.
