Janelle Monáe isn’t holding back. During a Grammys afterparty in Los Angeles on Sunday night, Monáe joined Anderson .Paak on stage to perform Nelly’s “Hot in Herre,” but it was her freestyle that really stole the spotlight.
As she rapped, Monáe said she “used to like Nelly” before he performed at Trump’s inauguration. “I care about women. I care about Hispanics,” she said, before turning her attention back to Nelly: “Nelly, you sold out. I used to think he was cool, but now you look like a motherf—ing fool… f— you, you get a new attitude.” It’s clear Monáe isn’t afraid to speak her mind—and the fiery moment had fans buzzing.

“She’s always been outspoken and badasss the industry needs more like her,” one commenter wrote.
“Now get Snoop Dogg. Nelly wasn’t the only one,” noted another, referring to the fact that Snoop, too, performed at an event celebrating Trump’s inauguration.
