The cover of Doechii’s Grammy Award-winning mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal is high on drama. In the album art, Doechii looks comfortable but alert sitting in an armchair, an albino alligator resting on her lap. She stares straight into the camera, unfazed, as if a bite that never heals holds no threat to her.
In a red carpet interview with Variety, Doechii reveals that the alligator is named Coconut. “Me and her are very close,” she said, adding, “We interact all the time. She’s super cool.”

“Are you about to tell me it’s your alligator?” the interviewer followed up, to which the rising superstar responded “I wish she was mine,” and predicted, “One day I’ll have my own.”
