Video of the Day: Surviving Racism and Cancer as a Queer Woman

This moving interview shows why we need more support for QTPOC in our community.

Aaryn Lang of “First Person” sat down with activist and sex educator Ericka Hart to discuss Blackness, queer identity and being a visible breast cancer survivor. This moving interview shows why we need more support for QTPOC in our community. Hart explains how it took her doctor two weeks to find one photo of a Black woman with a double mastectomy when she was going through chemotherapy. Racism exists in every system of America—even in the LGBTQ community.
