Henrietta’s Tribute to a living legend, Nov 21
Do something different with your Sunday night and celebrate the life and times of Stormé DeLarverié, one of the country’s foremost male impersonators of her time. Legend has it that Stormé was the lesbian who kicked off the Stonewall Riots in 1969. Stormé was a pioneer in the gay and lesbian community and regularly performed at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem as the sole drag king in a drag-queen group, the Jewel Box Revue. A figure in the New York City LGBT scene for decades and a former bouncer at Henrietta Hudson in the bar’s early years, Stormé will be honored with a benefit at Henrietta’s on Nov 21. Stormé is no longer able to live on her own, and all proceeds from the benefit will go to support this gay icon’s daily needs. See all the latest parties by clicking here.
