Olivia Travel Just Announced ‘The L Word’ Experience And We’re Buying Tickets ASAP

It’s “The L Word” in Caribbean vacation form.

Do you love “The L Word“? Are you excited by the idea of being “stuck” on a cruise ship full of queer women? Today’s your lucky day! Olivia Travel, the LGBTQ+ women’s travel company, has just announced a partnership with Showtime Networks and ViacomCBS Consumer Products that will bring “The L Word”-loving ladies the immersive vacation of their dreams.

Olivia Travel and “The L Word” first joined forces during its premiere in 2004, when cast members joined creator and executive producer Ilene Chaiken on an Olivia Caribbean cruise to watch and celebrate. An episode of the original series, “Land Ahoy,” was also filmed on an Olivia cruise.

“We still hear from women all over the world who found Olivia Travel through ‘The L Word,’ and we’re back to do it all again, bigger and better, as we bring 1300 LGBTQ+ women together to experience one of the best vacations on the planet, while celebrating the return of this show that has made such a profound impact on our culture,” Olivia President and CEO Judy Dlugacz said in a press release.

“The L Word: Generation Q” Caribbean Resort Vacation won’t necessarily be a cruise around the world; it may be docked, but it’ll still feel like the hottest vacation in the world (and not just because of its location). Taking place at Club Med’s oceanfront resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the all-inclusive experience will offer guests everything from themed pool parties and nightly dance parties to screenings and meet-and-greet events. The vacation experience is set to take place May 9th-16th.

“Olivia and ‘The L Word’ have a beautiful history together, so it’s only fitting as an entire new generation is introduced to these characters and stories that we would team up once again to bring fans — past and present — together with cast members and creators of this series,” said Dlugacz in a statement. “‘The L Word’ broke new ground for lesbian representation in its first run, and ‘The L Word: Generation Q’ is poised to go even further by fully representing LGBTQ+ women, no matter who they love or how they identify.”
