JoJo Siwa’s Ex Kath Ebbs Has Strong Words About “Shocking” And “Humiliating” Breakup

In a since-deleted video, Kath Ebbs explains exactly how they feel about the sudden split.

Australian influencer and actor Kath Ebbs is speaking out after what they describe as a “humiliating” end to their relationship with pop star JoJo Siwa.

In a candid video posted to, then deleted from, social media, Ebbs shared their experience of being abruptly dumped by Siwa during the Celebrity Big Brother afterparty in London. A shorter version of the video is still up on Ebbs’ Instagram.

The pair had gone public with their relationship earlier this year, and Ebbs had flown across the world to support Siwa at the show’s live finale.

“I was told there are confused feelings there – do with that what you will – and that [Jojo] had realized in the house that I wasn’t the person they wanted to spend the foreseeable future with,” Ebbs said in the emotional post. “It’s so shocking that I feel kind of subhuman right now.”

According to Ebbs, they had hoped to privately address their concerns with Siwa after watching the singer’s close bond with Love Island star Chris Hughes unfold on TV. During the show, Siwa and Hughes grew notably close, exchanging tearful goodbyes and affectionate moments that left viewers speculating about the nature of their relationship.

Siwa, 21, had previously acknowledged feeling “confused” and “guilty for how happy I’ve been” inside the Big Brother house, even expressing she had a realization about her sexuality while filming. “I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, and I think being here I’ve realized: ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer.’ And I think that’s really cool,” she reflected during a confessional.

But for Ebbs, watching these revelations unfold from afar was “very unsettling and very hurtful.” They said they felt “betrayed” by what they saw on screen, believing at first that reality TV dramatics would not affect the authenticity of their relationship. “Everything we saw unfold on what I thought was a fake reality show… was, in fact, laced in a lot of truth,” Ebbs confessed.

Despite earlier standing by Siwa amid controversy, including defending her against homophobic comments from fellow housemate Mickey Rourke, Ebbs now finds themselves navigating heartbreak in the public eye. They described their experience at the afterparty as “further humiliation,” recounting that they were left to leave the event alone, shielding their face from paparazzi as they exited.

Siwa has not publicly commented on the breakup, although in the days since leaving the Big Brother house, she has posted videos suggesting a desire to stay in the UK longer, telling fans, “Yeah, I just want to stay in the UK,” when asked what she needed most.

Meanwhile, Ebbs is already showing signs of trying to move forward. They recently re-shared a follower’s suggestion on Instagram to visit a lesbian bar in London, adding playful monkey emojis to the post. If nothing else, they’ll have no shortage of folks offering to buy them a consolatory drink.
