JoJo Siwa No Longer Identifies As A Lesbian

JoJo Siwa has clarified on national TV that she no longer identifies as a lesbian.
JoJo Siwa has clarified her current stance on her sexual identity, stating during a recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother UK that she no longer identifies as a lesbian. Instead, the 21-year-old performer and social media personality now embraces the broader label of “queer.”
The revelation came during a conversation with fellow housemate Danny Beard, a non-binary drag performer and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner, in which Siwa reflected on how her understanding of her identity has changed while living in the CBB house.
“I feel so queer,” Siwa said. “I’ve never—I think I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian. I think being here—I’ve realised I am not a lesbian, I’m queer.”
She continued, “I’m switching letters! I’ve dropped the L and I’ve gone to the Q, baby! That’s what I love about sexuality.”
Siwa first came out in 2021 and had previously described herself as a lesbian. In interviews over the past year, she spoke openly about her relationships and her process of understanding her sexuality.
Siwa is currently in a relationship with Kath Ebbs, an Australian influencer who is non-binary. She publicly confirmed the relationship earlier this year, referring to Ebbs as her “girlfriend.” On the podcast We Need to Talk with Paul C. Brunson, Siwa discussed the relationship, saying, “I have the most amazing, beautiful partner… I just trust them beyond trust.”

During that same interview, Siwa recounted a story about her first girlfriend and how that relationship helped her come to terms with her feelings for women. She described that process as ongoing, saying, “It’s one I’m still on for sure.”
Siwa’s statement on Celebrity Big Brother marks the most public update to her identity since she came out. The discussion was met with support from Danny Beard, who responded to Siwa’s “Q” identifier by affirming their own queer identity and lightening the moment with a joke: “And you know what British people love more than anything? To queue!”
