Grindr Can Help You Find Pussy Too

Ruby the Cat

A heartwarming tale of chasing tail.

Two cat owners got creative when their fur baby went missing from their home in Brighton, England. Erin Johansen, 22, and her husband, Lorcan, 24, are the parents to Ruby, a 6-year-old Tuxedo kitty, and when she went missing, they were especially panicked as she does not have a microchip or collar.

The couple tried the typical approach of putting up “Missing Cat” posters around their neighborhood, but when Ruby still wasn’t turning up, a friend offered the use of his Grindr profile to widen the pool of people who might help find Ruby.

The 21-year-old’s profile read, “chill, curious, and goofy,” and “looking for dates” but was replaced with a photo of Ruby the car.

“We didn’t think to change the other bits of the profile,” Erin Johansen told The Daily Mail, “so it said she enjoys karaoke and stuff.”

Erin explained that along with the photo of Ruby, there was a note attached saying, “a bit strange but our house cat has gone missing. If anyone has seen this cat please message me to let me know, it would be great help.”

The couple didn’t stop at Grindr (who are we to assume Ruby’s sexual orientation?). Erin also repurposed a Tinder profile to get the word out about Ruby. The dating apps, she told The Daily Mail, were a “massive help.”

“Everyone took it really seriously and were just looking to help,” she added.

Ruby was finally returned home after a neighbor spotted her, but before that, several Grindr users responded to Ruby’s profile saying they had seen the missing cat. This gave Erin confidence that the app’s community can be relied on to find pussy, too.

“There’s a huge LGBTQ+ community around Brighton,” Erin told The Daily Mail, “and we were hoping to put the word out to as many people as possible.”
