But, fans shouldn’t worry, she says she will continue to be publicly known (and billed) as Jinkx Monsoon.

Superstar Jinkx Monsoon holds many titles: two-time winner of Rupaul’s Drag Race, Broadway star, soon-to-be guest star on Doctor Who, Carnegie Hall headliner and more. Now, the woman who is always in the spotlight is sharing a little more about herself: a new chosen name.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, which Jinkx shared on X, she unveiled Hera Hoffer as her new personal name. But, fans shouldn’t worry, she says she will continue to be publicly known (and billed) as Jinkx Monsoon.

Hera is also the name of her newly released perfume, which was inspired by the Greek goddess and her own personal gender journey.

She told WWD it all ties together. She’s “constantly self-manifesting” and “finding ways to be more [herself]”.

The public announcement comes weeks after she publicly shared her journey with Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS). Jinkx updated fans on X with a few photos of her recovery, acknowledging her ability to access gender-affirming care is a privilege that many trans and nonbinary individuals don’t have.

“I will continue to use my voice til the day I die to fight for everyone, everywhere who is worried that it’s “too late.” We all find our path. We all find our time. You do you, however you want to do you, whenever you can— it’s never too late”, she posted.

While continuing in her gender journey, Jinkx is making major moves in the spotlight- both on broadway and off.

She is taking the Broadway stage as Audrey in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ for the first time tonight. She describes the opportunity as her dream role.

Jinkx is also confirmed to appear in the second episode of a new Doctor Who, alongside Ncuti Gatwa. The show’s second trailer dropped yesterday, featuring Jinkx as “the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet”. The show is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 11.

Jinkx is taking the world by storm (or should we say by monsoon) and we’re living for it.
